FAQ
Is 6A the same as V3?
Yes. 6A Font is generally considered equivalent to V3, and 6A+ is also V3. The V-scale is coarser, so several Font grades map to the same V grade.
What is 7A in V grades?
7A Font converts to V6. It is a common milestone grade for intermediate boulderers.
Why do Fontainebleau grades feel harder?
Font sandstone rewards precise footwork, friction and slopers. Climbers used to steep gym problems often find the grades stiff at first.
